Today, everything has to be “organic” because it is the safest way to a healthy life and lifestyle. We’re talking about organic food, organic skin care products, organic textiles, organic lotions, organic hair care shampoos, etc. O-R-G-A-N-I-C. Organic!

However, not quite everything has to be organic. But when it comes to our hair, the organic hair care is the way to go. So, you probably have guessed that the conventional shampoos and conditioners contain a few (or more than a few) harmful ingredients such as petroleum based polymers, silicones, and synthetic chemicals. These ingredients leave the hair damaged, dry and oil-free, which, clearly, is not a good thing.

Organic hair care, on the other hand, has the purpose to wash and cleanse your hair only with natural ingredients, in order to keep the hair’s natural oils intact and to nourish. It’s better for our hair and scalp if we do it this way: it’s a win-win situation for both us and the environment. These are eco-friendly products.

What are the harmful ingredients we should avoid when thinking what shampoo to buy? Here is a list:

  • Parabens (methyl-, propyl-, butyl-paraben)

  • Sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate (SLS or SLES)

  • Petrolatum (Petroleum Jelly)

  • Propylene glycol

  • Diethanolamine (DEA) and triethanolamine (TEA)

  • Ethoxylated ingredients (PEG- or -ETH)

  • Imidazolyl urea and Diazolidinyl urea

  • Silicone

Kind of a long list of things to avoid. Beauty artists advice us to start looking for products with oils such as coconut, carrot seed, natural butter such as shea, cocoa, food-derived proteins and essential oils such as lemon, orange, geranium, lavender.

Organic Hair Care Brands

Have you ever tried an organic hair shampoo and conditioner? Well, it’s about time you do so. You shouldn’t be afraid of the oils and natural butter they contain. You may get the impression that so much oils will make your hair look greasy and flat when in fact it’s quite the opposite, actually.

Natural oils are highly indicated for our scalp because they prevent a dry and oily skin and even dandruff. Amazing, right? But what brand of organic hair care to try? Which is a good one? Which is the best? Questions, questions…

Why should you use organic hair care products?

First of all, they are a lot  safer than your conventional hair care products. The normal shampoos and conditioners contain chemical and synthetic ingredients that can lead to a hormonal balance, cause some illness, allergies or even cancer. Due to the high absorption rate our body has through skin, they can absorb a lot of these harmful ingredients.

In time, conventional products damage the scalp and hair by drying them up and causing long term harsh effects. There are a lot of reasons why we should STOP using these products and start, instead, with those natural.

What are the organic hair care products advantages?

  • they are high quality products

  • they are free from alergens

  • they are safe for long-term use

  • they are safe to be used by pregnant women

  • they are free of hormone disrupters

  • they do not cause allergies

  • they provide a healthy glow

  • they are suited for every needs

  • they have antiseptic and antimicrobial properties

  • they help control a high range of conditions, for example dandruff

  • they are environment-friendly

  • they will provide a long-term health of the hair

  • they are much more effective and provide actual results

  • they provide support for harvesting potent plant extracts

  • they have natural fragrances, coming from plants

The key difference between normal hair care and organic hair care is the quality of the ingredients: natural ingredients versus chemical and synthetic ingredients. Which do you prefer?

Organic hair care products gently take care of our hair, infusing our skin cells with minerals, vitamins, natural oils and herbal extracts. That’s why choosing an organic shampoo and conditioner is the best place to start taking a real care of your hair.
