It’s no secret that flowers don’t last forever. Why give someone a bouquet that’s only going to wilt in a few days?
Dried flowers are a great way to preserve the beauty of these vibrant plants. Whoever receives them can admire their loveliness for years to come. Flowers are not only pretty to look at but they can also improve our mental health.
But who would want to receive a handful of dried flowers?
We’ll go over a few easy ways to incorporate dried flowers into great gifts. Ready to find out what they are?
Here we go!
Lavender Room Spray
Lavender not only makes for a good herb to dry but its scent relaxes our busy minds. To make a room spray without all the harsh chemicals, here’s what you need:
- Dried lavender
- Lavender essential oil (optional)
- Small pot
- 2 1/2 cups of water
- 2 tablespoons of vodka or witch hazel
- Coffee filter
- Funnel
- Mason jar
- Spray bottle
Once you have all of your components, heat one cup of water. Bring it to a simmer, add four handfuls of dried lavender. Once it has steeped for five minutes, remove it from heat.
In another pot, bring the remaining 1 1/2 cups of water to a boil.
Meanwhile, place the coffee filter inside of the funnel and pour the lavender mixture into the mason jar. Once the water boils, adds that along with either vodka or witch hazel into the jar along with a few drops of essential oil. Once cooled, pour the mixture into the spray bottle.
Dried Flowers Wall Art
Flowers make for great home decor without sitting in a vase. Here’s what’s needed:
- Dried flowers of your choice
- Twine or string
- Nail or wall hook
Make sure the flowers you choose are still on the stems. Astilbe flowers work perfectly. Learn more about flowers similar to astilbe.
Collect all the flowers and hold them together by wrapping twine or string about five inches to cover most of the stems. Create a knot or a bow so they’ll stay intact.
Attach a nail or a wall hook. It’s an easy and inexpensive way for friends or family to add a pop of color to their walls!
Potpourri
Trust us, this is not their grandma’s potpourri! Here’s all that you need:
- Flowers of your choice (dried)
- Essential oils
- Herbs
- Spices
- Container
Using a container of your choice, add all the components inside of it. The room they place it in will smell heavenly.
Mini Bouquets
You’ll love handing these out to friends to cheer them up. Or, make one for yourself!
Here’s the list:
- Long-stem flowers (dried)
- Twine or string
- Brown kraft paper
You can follow the same directions as the Wall Art DIY above. But before adding the string, gather all flowers inside of the paper then continue.
Bath Mixture
This is a perfect gift for those who like to relax in the tub. Here’s what you need:
- Flowers (dried)
- Essential oils
- Container
Combine ingredients inside the container. All they need to do is dump the mixture into the bath and they’ll be ready to soak away.
Wrapping Up
Creating these flower arrangements is incredibly easy. Plus, you’ll put smiles on friend’s and family’s faces when they see the gifts you created.
