First of all, what does “Beauty” means to you? I asked myself this question too, and I realized that the answer is more complex to explain than I thought.
Let me start by saying that even if most of the people often believe that Beauty is a physical issue, to me it’s not true at all.
Wait… I don’t want to say that physical beauty does not matter, otherwise we would not spend so much time having fun playing with makeup! Taking care of yourself, from the aesthetic point of view, is sometimes very useful to improve the self-confidence that so many lack in.
But physical beauty alone is not enough! Focusing only on the exterior is just a “passing” fix. You have to put an effort in increasing you inside beauty, too. Because this is the one that really lasts. It’s when we feel well, happy and fulfilled in our life that people around us can truly perceive our well-being and want to spend more time with us, because we instill a positive influence in them.

I want to share with you, my secrets to staying positive and beautiful! Remember, these are not the “typical” beauty habits!
#1 Do Sports
I do not want to start by scaring all those of you who cannot handle physical activity! But exercising can really help you in many aspects of your life.
For example, jogging helps to control your weight and blood sugar, it improves blood circulation and…it helps out even with the mood! Why?
1) It relieves daily stress, in addition, the tension in the shoulders, back and neck.
2) It increases the production of serotonin in the brain, that hormone that influences the sleep- wake rythm. That’s why joggers regularly don’t not know what insomnia is!
3) The race stimulates the production of endorphins or substances which cause an elevation of the pain threshold, reduce the negative effects of nervous tension and, consequently, improve the mood. An increase in physical and mental endurance, developed by a constant practice generates an increase in self-confidence and self-esteem.

#2 Hang Out With Friends
The beautiful thing of being among friends is that they love you no matter what. This is an amazing thing because it unconsciously increases your self-consciousness since to them you are perfect the way you are.
#3 Travel
Travel can really enrich you a lot. Not only it opens your mind, but it allows you to meet new people and to know new cultures. Moreover by travelling you can “grow up” in the sense that you will learn how to be autonomous and independent, increasing your confidence.

#4 Relax
My teacher at the Middle School once said that sometimes “boredom is good”. I am really convinced that what she meant was that it’s necessary to take some time off for yourself, and learn to feel comfortable by standing alone. I know that is difficult in everyday life to carve out time for yourself, but If you’re able to reach this state of mind you will feel serene in a deeper way.
#5 Turn Off The Phone
The reason why I think is important sometimes to disconnect from the virtual world to enjoy all the real things in life, is that even if you don’t realize it, the use social network and technology devices is a cause of stress and anxiety! Think about it: how much time do you spend on your phone, tablet and so on? Just stop sharing photos, checking Facebook notifications or writing on Twitter for one day during the week. In the beginning, it might be very hard, but then it will get easier and maybe you’ll even like it!
#6 Gratification
Don’t be afraid to pamper yourself, for example by doing shopping and eating food you like …is just a way of loving yourself! But beware and do not exaggerate otherwise this pampering thing becomes a bad habit!

#7 Do What You Are Scared Of Doing
Yes! Doing what you are scared of doing makes you stronger and increases your self-confidence. Why? Because once you have done something extraordinary, you will be extremely proud of yourself. When facing something you are scared of, you prove yourself what you are made of! Sometimes it requires years to overcome a fear but nothing is impossible and you can do it!
#8 Choose Positive People
Life is so stressful sometimes and we cannot always control it, but we can choose the people we want around! They will help us handle everyday issues better. Having positive people around just makes any hard or bad period of our life easier.
#9 Don’t Be Afraid To Say “No”
Your time and knowledge are very important! I know you want to help everyone and be nice, but first you need to help yourself and your needs and after you can help everyone else! Being drained of all energy because you want to be everything for everybody, will only frustrate you. Learn to say NO from time to time – you will feel liberated!
#10 Don’t Be Afraid To Say “Yes”
Often you think about the other’s opinion before thinking about what you really want. Too often on a subconscious level, you are afraid of someone else’s judgement. This happens because you are insecure of who you are and how you look like. By the way, this is the reason why is important to “train” your inner self-consciousness! Only this way you will have the courage to do (or not to do) what you really want.
#11 Take Care Of Your Body
Body and mind always go hand in hand! Take care of yourself on a daily basis starting with the little things: wash your teeth at least 2 times a day, take a shower, remove your makeup, drink up to 8 glasses of water, put some perfume on, etc. This will make you feel tidy and it will give you a feeling of comfort and self-love.
