Grey is the combination between black and white. It is said that grey is an unemotional color, it is neutral, impartial and detached. It is said that too much of grey creates sadness and depression. But not in the fashion industry! Here it is considered a chic color.
In the Pantone Fashion Color Report for Fall 2014, two particular shades of grey were included: a lighter one, called Aluminium and a darker one, called Cypress.
When grey hit the runways a few years back, people didn’t know whether to be worried or not. “Chances of a monotonous fashion aren’t very likely” says Rachel Crumbley, trend analyst at Cotton Inc (New York).
Grey may not make the same strong statement as black or white, but it should definitely be taken under observation and into consideration. Grey, as all colors, may come in different shades, that’s why there is no way that it could be monotonous. Even an all grey look can be chic and trendy if the right shades and materials are combined.
So, let’s take a look at no more and no less than 50 photos with shades of grey from runways and street styles.
