The Emmy Awards Gala 2014: Best Dressed

//The Emmy Awards Gala 2014: Best Dressed

The Emmys are, after the Met Gala, yet another night to follow the trends in terms of beautiful gowns and interesting celebrity appearances. I have never been particularly interested in these kinds of events, but since I am a tv series sort of a junkie, I have decided i am going to take a look, at the winners. This led me to the best dressed list, then to the worst dressed, the to several articles about the night, and then to me feeling sorry that I didn’t actually watch it on TV.

So I have decided to write an article about it, to make myself feel less guilty. However, we have ditched the worst dressed list, as, even though sometimes the comments might be funny, the way they make people feel is simply nasty and we do not want to do that.

Before I start with the cascade of images, let’s talk a little bit about the Emmy Awards.

The Emmys are the Oscars of TV Series and they go along with the Tony Award(for theatre) or the Grammy(for music). They are presented in various ceremonies throughout the year, as they award different sectors of American television and the two that gather the most media coverage are the Daytime and the Primetime Emmy Awards.

This year marked the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony, held on the 25th of August. It was brilliant, and Breaking Bad received basically all the awards it could get, and it was great. I have realized that there were a lot of good shows that I have never watched in my entire life, but after this. it is a good moment to start.

Trends

Still, as it is a big fashiontastic night, it is important to mention that we have noticed three major trends among others in the dresses worn. As in all major events, you can see that there are things that repeat themselves, in a matter that is pleasing to the eye, and so, these are our trends.

#1: The Red Belles Of The Ball

The first thing that we have seen pop out was the color red. It simply had to be a trend, as red is such a powerful and vibrant color that perfectly matched the moment of the Emmys, a warm summer night. A red dress is perfect and stunning for an elegant night or a very special event! You won’t regret picking this color!

#2: The Pure White Goddesses

Another eye-catching color, which can very well emphasize your newly acquired tan, is represented by white. A beautiful color, that is usually found in flawy materials, often repeated in gown choice for every major event. It gives a certain pure elegance no other color can give the wearer, so why not get yourself an immaculately white dress for the next event?

#3: Metallics Win The Night

Of course metallics cannot go missing at such a major fashion and film event! These shiny materials are great for the warm nights, and they dazzle beautifully while you move, creating a wonderful cascade of light wherever you step! Catch the whole attention of the room with one of these spectacular dresses and everyone will remember you!
