Hello, fellow beauty and fashion lovers! I’m Olivia, your neighborhood DIY contributor. I originally started doing little DIY projects for a blog called DIY Mother, but now I’m embarking on some more beauty-related projects every month for Estilo Tendances. Today’s project is a DIY marble makeup/perfume tray.

I’ve always been attracted to marble and I’ve noticed that it’s been growing in popularity within the DIY circuit. For good reason, too…there’s something so classic and glamorous about the way it looks and feels. Plus, it has a rich history-for centuries, marble has been used for monuments, palaces, and sculptures.

While I wish I could cover my floors in marble, it’s just not practical. However, I did find a pretty clever use for it last week when my mirrored makeup tray broke. While perusing the hardware store, I saw a gorgeous piece of Carrara marble and knew that it would make a perfect new makeup (or perfume) tray. All it needed was 2 handles and something to keep it elevated off my counter.

What you’ll need:

  • (1) 10 in. x 14 in. piece of Carrara marble tile
  • Door pulls
  • Felt pads
  • Strong, clear-drying adhesive (I used silicone)

Clean off the piece of tile with soap and water. It will need to be clean before you apply any adhesive. Then, place the felt pads on the bottom edges of the tile piece. I added an extra right in the middle to make sure it was stable.

Take the cabinet pulls out of the package and apply the adhesive directly to the ends of the pulls.

Allow the adhesive to dry for 24 hours until you lift the marble. Once the adhesive has cured, put it on your bathroom shelf and you have an easy, affordable tray for displaying your makeup and perfume!
