Tara Starlet’s Inspiring Story

//Tara Starlet’s Inspiring Story

A little while ago, we were introduced to London PR agency Push PR, and I remember the first time I visited their showroom I noticed some amazing vintage-inspired clothes, and particularly, some fairy-tale style capes. These clothes remained with me as I would love to be able to dress more in that style, but sometimes I am just a bit lazy and I never seem  to find the perfect pieces to achieve the look.

It wasn’t until a few weeks ago, when I was invited to their Press Day, that I found out more about the brand and fell in love with the story behind it. It is a very interesting label with a feminine, pin-up and 50s inspired style. Here, at Estilo Tendances we aim to give you the best new and emerging designers to look to, and with that in mind we want to introduce you to the wonderful Tara Starlet.

The Brand logo

Tara Starlet was launched by a mother-daughter duo from London and was initially created under the name Joanne Scott London, making its debut in Portobello and Spitalfields markets. Unfortunately, in 2011, Tara’s mother passed away, and so Tara continued the venture on her own, vowing to take the brand to bigger and better places. She renamed the brand Tara Starlet and the rest was history.

Tara’s designs are timeless, go-to glamourous pieces inspired by the pin-up girls of the 50s, but with a modern twist. Besides, this kind of clothing is very ‘in’ at the moment, when people are exposed to such a variety of fashion and style, and with people seeking for daily inspiration online. The brand is reminiscing the moments when the clothes were given more importance and were worn until the elbows were overused, passed from generation to generation. Tara Starlet is the epitome of that fashion period, taking the customer back to a moment when clothes were truly cherished and giving them a different meaning than they have nowadays.

Beautiful color combination

With fans such as Paloma Faith and Gizzi Erskine, Tara Starlet is on the path to style success, becoming a household name for those looking to create a pin-up, vampy 50s vintage look with a modern feel.

The Autumn/Winter 14  collection represents a journey of self-discovery as a woman, a quest for finding the feminine identity. Heroines and Hollywood icons are the main source of inspiration, while the collection explores the power of working women and the glamour of their success. The vintage feel of the brand is maintained by the figure-hugging skirts, the floral frocks and playful capes, having a small pinch of masculine style seen through the sailor slacks.

Look below for some amazing photos from their Autumn/Winter 14 collection and let yourself mesmerized by the 50s vibe Tara Starlet provides:
