The trend that we all used to rock a decade ago is now strongly emerging back to the fashion scene – wearing just a single statement earring! Last year it was making its modest comeback on the catwalk for Dior Fall 2013. This year it started to be seen first on the red carpet, worn by celebrities such as Emma Watson and Adèle Exarchopoulos.
The lone-lobed earring trend carried on to the Fall 2014 runways. This bold and brassy trend was worn by models on catwalks for Celine, Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch and Isabel Marant. The main idea is to choose a true statement earring, Georgian era gem, and wear it with a young and witty touch!
Claire Distenfeld stated for Vogue: “I’m notorious for only buying one from designers—they want to kill me. So then I thought I should always buy two, either in case of emergency replacement or to give to a friend.” So this is the season when you can look through your boudoir for those single earrings and wear them with style!
Here is Estilo-Tendances guide how to wear just a single fine jewellery earring!

Adele Exarchopoulos at the Golden Globe 2014 Awards
This year the single earring trend that was to be seen at the catwalks Spring/Summer 2013 was worn by a few celebrities such as Adele Exarchopoulos and Emma Watson (who wore the trend more than just once). Since the dress code for the red carpet is black tie or even white tie, then wearing single earring trend or wearing two requires a more modest touch to the outfit! Wearing just one earring adds a young and fresh spin to your style that is following strict rules of the dress code.

On the catwalks of Fall-Winter 2014 the single earring trend has a great variety depending on the collections. Since the Fall-Winter trends are always a little more modest and following simple color schemes, wearing statement jewelry is a great way to add sparkle and shine to the runway! This season embellishments and jewelry are taking a bold stand by taking over the center of the outfits! Georgian-era gems take on a modern day interpretations by representing Old World adornment! Since designers we have presented here have really different styles for their collections, then every trend has a completely unique inspiration and outcome!

Photographers, stylists and of course editors have taken on the single earring trend for magazines, look books and advertisements. The approach is always as seen on the runways – bold and brassy! The style of the earring has to follow the mood of the outfit, though! It is really important to keep in mind not to overdo other jewelry you are wearing – remember it is a statement piece on its own! Think about the make-up and hairstyle – follow the style of the piece and the outfit, but mainly keep in mind to center the earring!
