Milan Fashion Week In Images

//Milan Fashion Week In Images

It is the most important event of the year. All Italy stops for (almost) a week to check out what’s going on in Milan, the fashion capital of the peninsula. There you find the most important people within the industry, from fashion critics to fashion bloggers, from media to a regular public who just want to take a glimpse of what’s on in the next season. The trends are not set only on the runaway, but the most influential trendsetters are sitting in the front row, exposing their expensive and luxurious garments. Italy is the country of well-established brands like Armani, Valentino, Prada and so on. This year’s fashion week remained at the high standards we are used to. I will show you in the following pictures the most important Ready-to-Wear collections presented in Milan, and of course, the ones we like the most.

Pay attention because these are sources of inspiration for our autumn-winter shopping list!

Day 1:19th of February

Designers like Alberta Ferretti, VERSUS Versace, Gucci, Francesco Scognamiglio, Fay, Fausto Puglisi and No 21 presented their best work- the autumn-winter Ready-to-Wear Collection! What I liked the most was the Gucci runway featuring mohair pea coats and the leather skirts– a must in the cold season! As you can see we had a little bit of all- color boost coming from Fausto Puglisi, that dose of masculinity we love coming from No 21 and the cool confident street style presented by Versace.

Day 2: 20th of February

Moschino, Fendi, Just Cavalli, MaxMara, Prada, Costume National and Ports 1961– it’s a blast! We all love the caricature style of Moschino, the genius of Miuccia Prada, the fresh touch of Cavalli’s collection, the army interpretation of Fendi or the monocrome looks offered by Costume National and Ports 1961!

Day 3: 21st of February

Lots of designers present on the runaway. Brands like Versace, Luisa Beccaria, Tod’s, Blumarine, Armani, Smartmax, Etro, Les copains and Icebers rocked their garments on the catwalk. Armani doesn’t need further description, his collection was glorious, fresh and young! Tod’s reminded us once again the importance of the hat as main accessory, Blumarine the sophistication we are all searching for, while Iceberg showed their tremendous tailoring skills.

Day 4: 22nd of February

Designers love fur! And they show it everytime. This was the day of Emilio Pucci presenting his modern-edgy-collection, Aquilano Rimondi, Gabriele Colangelo, Jil Sander with an immaculate bright tone collection, Antonio Marras, Roberto Cavalli enchanting the public with his usual refinement and exquisite taste, Ermanno Scervono, Bottega Veneta assigned the dress the main character of the collection and McQ Alexander McQueen with the brand’s characteristic of urban edgy outfits.

Day 5: 23rd of February

This was my favorite day. Ferragamo, as you already know, presented a clean, sophisticated collection I am in love with. Moreover, the rockish twist of Trussardi and the story of the wild animals told by Dolce and Gabbana collection enchanted our eyes. Together with them, MSGM, Marco de Vincenzo, Marni, Bally, CO-TE and Philipp Plein  introduced us into their magical fashion world.

Day 6: 24th of February

And like this, all good things have to come to an end, but for the Milan Fashion Week it was a sweet one. A day in which Armani expressed his vision upon his “donna in grigio”, Stella Jean amazed us with the multicultural cocktail of prints and the gorgeous lamp-shaped skirts, DSquared2 glammed-up the runway, and of course Heohman Simulatilon and Emilio Cavallini made a good impression. One way or another, it was a great week, we had the opportunity once again for seeing beautiful art, creativity, visions and impressions. Now, ’til September, let’s apply what we’ve learned and remain fashionable.
