In the past we, here at Estilo-Tendances, have covered all the trends of different seasons that catch our eye and that we can relate to our personal style! This time, we want to mix them all up and tell you why and how has the world of fashion reached the point where less actually is less!

In the 19th century, Charles Frederick Worth created his line of clothing and was the first designer to put his name tag on every piece he had created! Since then, the fashion industry followed the simple idea of creating certain collections that indicated the brand and/or the designer and were suitable for the season. Visual merchandising was the key and high streets followed the collections outfit by outfit!

Today the situation is slightly turned upside down, or as I have mentioned before, the top down has turned into bottom up! The 20th century transformed the mentality of the society and therefor the whole concept of how the fashion industry works! People started seeking for inspiration themselves rather than only following the designer’s style! This is why today, people following fashion are not limiting themselves with such boundaries as they used to! Mixing up trends – garments, prints and patterns, textures and colour is the key of how to contrast the items and stand out with your style!
Clash the trends this autumn/winter and strike with daring outfits on a cold and grey season!

TIP: Mixing prints with prints, layering patterns on patterns or going all in and doing it both for one outfit is daring and requires a little knowledge of how to mix and match like a pro! The line between fashionable and over the top is really thin here! Make sure to follow the rules for what colours either work together or work against each other (colour blocking) and wear small prints and patterns with larger to keep the outfit balanced!
