The Real Catwalk: Street Fashion

//The Real Catwalk: Street Fashion

I have always believed that the real trends aren’t set on the catwalk and the absolute trend-setters aren’t big names within the industry, but regular women really passionate about the way they dress. Walking down the streets I can see women that inspire me through their way of dressing, their personality transposed in every single piece of garment they wear and especially the way they wear it.

Since this is a hot topic, StyleCaster decided to interview 25 major NYFW designers. The question they were asked was: “Street style: more, more, more, or enough already?”

Here is what they replied:

[We] Love street style in general, but not the fashion week circus outside Lincoln Center.”
Danielle and Jodie Snyder, Dannijo

“More, more, more.”                                                                                                              —Monique Lhuillier

“More! New spaces though, new people, please, something new! Let’s go on a trip?”
Katie Gallagher
I love seeing how real humans style their wardrobe. SO MORE MORE MORE!
Lindsey Degen, DEGEN

“Always more. Street fashion inspires me as I am sure it inspires many other designers.”
Rachel Roy

“Street style is not my focus. Right now I am totally looking for inside style.”   Phillipe Blond of The Blonds

“I think I would like to see a little bit more glamour, a little bit more sparkle. I’m loving all the furs though. That’s kind of a hot accessory right now.”
Dennis Basso

“Can’t help but to want to capture good style, but most are looking either too exaggerated or too styled, no?”
Meskite

“I’m fascinated by the real street fashionthe kind I see when I walk around. The street photography stuff that is everywhere is starting to get on my nerves.”
Christine Alcalay

“The more the merrier.”
Whitney Pozgay, WHIT

“Lincoln Center Fountain is a show in and of itself.”
Fiona Kotur

“Enough already, unless it’s someone we don’t all know already wearing something crazy inspiring.”
Kaelen Haworth, KAELEN

As you can see, the majority of designer do want to see more stree fashion to get inspired and this is an amazing thing! Cause in the end, what is Fashion really about?

For me fashion is art just like painting, sculpture and music. It is the ability of creating something beautiful, even from the pieces others would throw away. It is the ability of innovating, of being original and especially the capability of showcasing your personality with the right attitude. Clothes without attitude are flat.

The most beautiful thing in fashion is the way the clothes represent you as a person, the way they reflect every thought and creative part you have. They don’t have to be expensive or designer stamped.

The ones that achieve the Trend-Setter title with a low budget are my role models. Everyone can dress well having designer garments and personal shoppers, but only a few can truly show an exquisite taste of choosing impeccable looks using a modest budget. I chose to show you some of the fashionistas’ outfits spotted on the streets. I love them, they inspire me and my every day outfits and I hope they’ll have the same effect on you!

Enjoy the real catwalk presented by the street style bloggers and regular women with exquisite style! Street Fashion at it’s best!
