Olivier Rousteing is as sassy as they come. The laid back persona combined with an approachable outreach to the world, via social networks such as his daily Instagrams, make him one of our favourite designers of all time. In his role as creative director for Balmain he has established a revolutionary identity that will be remembered for years to come. The Balmain Army, an alter ego that we see many high fashion models, such as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kendall Jenner embracing, is momentous. Balmain is bold, brilliant and ultimately daring.
IF YOU WANT TO FALL IN LOVE WITH BALMAIN EARRING AS WELL, HERE YOU HAVE THE THREE STATEMENT STYLES YOU CANNOT MISS THIS SEASON!
The AW15 runway was no different. The vibrant colours and eccentric prints found on this runway were show stopping and had the eyes of every FROW goer pinned on these ensembles. The Balmain runway is so diverse that highlighting one specific vision, where a particular trend overpowers another, is simply unobtainable. From tassles, to flares, to belts and thigh high slits- Balmain brilliance has struck one more time. Bravo Olivier.
Tantalising tassels are back and oh how we love them. Of course we already anticipate elaborate, over exaggerated statements from the house of Balmain but this trend embarks upon the unimaginable. Instead of using dark colours and washed out, understated material like many designers before him, Olivier chooses bigger and better. These looks are almost theatrical and scream that they have a story to tell, we literally cannot take our eyes of them. All four looks are like no other. It takes a great deal of confidence to even pick these up off the rack never mind as you attempt kill it whilst walking down the street. The clothes themselves provide you with such confidence. That’s the Olivier touch.
Anything one designer does, Olivier does better. Colour blocking is present on most runways in every season and quite rightly so, its impact is incredible however Balmain take it to an unprecedented level. Olivier has the ability to surprise. The black, thick separation found within each of these ensembles is iconic and central to these pieces. Although it may separate the colour this is all in good use as every single part of the ensemble is thoroughly appreciated from head to toe. What is more is this that this trend transgresses to outerwear; because of course what you wear above needs to looks as fabulous as underneath.

Chicer than chic coats
Wearing your coat on shoulder: We all see the street style stars do it but did we ever think this would become a trend? There is a coat for every ensemble evident by this looks that range from off duty casual to night time sophistication. These coats are distinct in many different colours and styles but they all have the same goal, to complement their show stopping ensemble that lies beneath. This is the easiest trend to embrace in your everyday style and of course it would be the Balmain runway that would encourage you to do so. It’s all about exposure.
The many shades of eveningwear
Eveningwear has never been easier and ultimately elegant. These four looks range in every single aspect however all are as outstanding as each other.
Are you feeling the fur and sleeves?
Or the flares and leather detail?
Is the thigh high slit for you?
Or maybe it’s the halter neck that you have your eyes set on?
Finding eveningwear can be difficult, especially when you do not know what you are looking for. These questions and these pieces, influence and inspire. Balmain feels carefree but powerful and most importantly it changes the way you think about fashion.
FASHION ADDICT? THEN YOU HAVE TO KNOW ALL THE TRENDS PRESENTED AT MILAN FASHION WEEK 2015!
This was one of my favourite of Olivier Routseing’s runways. The Balmain army was out in true force with Kendall, Joan, Jourdan, Karlie and Alessandra being just some of the high flying supermodels that graced this runway. Balmain also draws in the best of the front row. Olivier’s BFF, Kim Kardashian was there to show her support meaning this fashion house attracted more attention than it already had. The world loves Balmain and this is down to that one man, the creative director, who believes in powerful women. Those powerful women are you.
