The sophisticated and grateful new designs for Spring/Summer 2015, seem to be the perfect goodbye that Christophe Lemaire says through his last collection. After three years of womenswear at Hermes, Lemaire is passing the Hermes torch to Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski, who arrives from The Row.
What a goodbye, but what an intro: the catwalk was swept with brushes by seven attendants in white boiler suits seconds before the show started. This brand new collection was so immaculate that the floors would not have needed any sweeping – this is how bright the colors were, together with the atmosphere. We could say that buttermilk colors were the main inspiration for the season and also a wrapping cut that makes you think about cocooning and protection. Water snake dresses, crisp poplin white shirts and leather shirts are only a part of this wonderful spectacle.
Hermès Women’s Collection: Spring/Summer 2015 Ready-To-Wear
Lemaire was clearly inspired by travel, not necessarily by the private island holiday, but by the strong female adventurer. The women’s collection designs included uwagi inspired coats, wrapped in rich ochre jackets and snake skin materials. Desert colors culottes were worn with masculine jackets, that emphasize the idea that women should be powerful and brave – have the courage to adventure into the wild.
If your dream is to take part at the Fashion Show in Paris, watch the video below. Maybe you will not be able to touch the real sand on the catwalk, but I promise you will feel like part of the adventure.
Now that you have seen pictures and you have found out more about the magic Hermes created, I invite you to close your eyes and imagine it:
the sandy beaches, the wild forest, the colorful flowers, the animals in the trees, the sea in front of you – blue like the clear sky.
This is what Hermes brought to life, together with that outfit you would decide to wear while being there.
How do you feel now?
Tell me in a comment bellow – I would love you know more about you!
***I bet that you are energized and excited and looking forward to your next trip.My advice is to just pack up some Hermes clothes and go for it!
