23rd of February, Milan. Salvatore Ferragamo presents its Autumn-Winter 2014-2015 RTW Collection. It’s been such a long time since I haven’t seen a collection that I like entirely. Usually only some pieces work for me, but this time I am totally wowed! What Massimiliano Giornetti did can be expressed through a single word: magnifique! It is all about dark colors-that we all love, about the elegance given by the stand-up collar capes instead of coats and about details that matter. He used very discrete, yet sophisticated prints in dark colors and high quality materials like cashmere and leather.
The collection is clear a statement of elegance designed for women who stand out not through opulent clothes, but through that “less is more” outfits. Like the clothes, the accessories are also discrete and sophisticated. All in dark tones, the boots and the bags are made from high-quality leather and accentuated through little gold details. Some might say this collection is too simplistic and some accused the designer for his previous “fail”. I say Massimiliano showed us how the words “refinement” and “elegance” can be translated into a perfect Autumn-Winter Collection. Way to go!
