Mixing Fall/Winter Trends: Day & Night

//Mixing Fall/Winter Trends: Day & Night

For a long time I wanted to do a photo shoot. Not so that I feel like a supermodel, but rather to show you how I incorporate some actual trends into my casual or more elegant outfits. So, I asked my friend Patricia, who just finished her make up artist course to work her magic on me! I have to tell you she’s Estilo Tendances’ former beauty adviser and we are so happy she followed her dream!

Together with me and Patricia, the third force came through! It’s Sebastian Astalas from Eby Photography. He is the young and passionate photographer who has all the credits for the photos you’ll see. I have to say I enjoyed working with both of them and I would love doing it again because it was a funny and interesting day!

Coming back to the theme of the shooting, I was inspired by the How To Mix AW 2014 Trends article and I wanted to show you exactly how I see mixing and matching this year’s trends. Of course, you have to find the trends matching your personality first, but you already know this! In what concerns my personal style, I like to think of myself as a chameleon type: I don’t have a specific style. I like a lot of different garments from ethnic prints to rock studs and stylish long leather gloves. One day you can see me wearing a pencil skirt with stilettos and the other day I can rock the biker boots and a studded beanie like no other. I guess this is what makes me love fashion: the versatility of items and the way you can play with the garments, making them seem new even-though you have had them for ages!

Make Yourself Noticed: Color Blocking and Oversize Trend

Even-though the idea behind this outfit wasn’t  at first to make myself noticed, I’ve noticed it had this impact. Not only that all the people stared at me on the street, but you can see from the images we just need sometimes a splash of color. I am getting bored from time to time of the black garments-even-though I am a black addict- and I like to step out of my comfort zone and play with the color blocking.

Evening Shouts Sophistication

I bought this cape four years ago from Austria and it was love at first sight. At that time none of my friends had one and even today so few like the cape trend. One of the reasons may be that capes aren’t practical when it comes to cold winter days, they much rather represent a stylish garment on the nights you go out. I have to admit I’ve also wore my cape in the daylight, with flat leather boots and a similar turtleneck knit and I loved it!

I talked about the cape trend some weeks ago. If you still haven’t bought one, check out this one!
