But… How to use Pastel colours without making mistakes?
The main problem when using pastels, is the risk to create a dull makeup look. In order to avoid it, it is extremely important to balance the eye, lips, and face makeup and then play with lights and shadows and create a bright and sophisticated overall effect.
Tip: Before applying any pastel colour on your eyelid, put a layer of white mat cream shadow as a base. For example, NYX Jumbo Eyepencil in n.604 “Milk” would suit perfectly for this aim. This step will help you to make the pastel eyeshadow more vibrant!

Let’s see now 5 gorgeous ways to wear pastel makeup!
#1 Lower Eyelid
This is probably my favourite way to use pastels eyeshadow! The pop of colour illuminates the lower eyelid and makes your look be out of the ordinary! If you want to replicate this look, I suggest you to use a soft coloured lipstick in order to put the accent on the eyes. Remember also to define the eyelashes junction with the eyeliner, because this way you will add more definition. Play with the pastel colour that better suits the colour of your eyes.
Tip: Get a palette eyeshadow and try each day a new one, so you can check which color is best for you!
This makeup look is absolutely sweet and feminine. It is perfect if you have short hair because it this makeup gives value to your natural features. Apply a winged eyeliner on your eyes and plenty of mascara. You can also apply false lashes if you want your eyes to pop out in a more dramatic way. The difficult part of this look (but the most important), is to choose the right colour of pastel lipstick based on your skin tone!Just to give you some guidelines: – use a rose toned lipstick if you have pale skin – orange toned one if you are more tanned.
My advice is also to choose a mat lipstick: a mat-finish will provide your look with more elegancy and sophistication.

#3 Upper Eyelid
The easiest way to use pastels without daring too much, is to apply your favourite colour in the centre of you eyelid and blend it with another darker eyeshadow. Also in this case, I would say it would be better to define with a pencil or an eyeliner the contour of the eyes. The final effect will be bright and deep!
The funny thing about nails is that: you can never make mistakes! Pastels are always perfect fit on the nails and you can play with them as you prefer! The only thing is that colours like yellow and mint are enhanced if you are just a bit tanned. So if you have really pale skin I suggest you to use colours like pink, lilac or light blue on your nails. The final effect of pastels on the nails will be fresh and young!

If you want to apply pastel blushes, make sure they have no glitter in it! Otherwise you will reach a powdery effect which is not nice to see. Moreover, do not apply too much product, in order to avoid the “porcelain doll effect“. Apart from this, pastels on the cheeks give a beautiful fresh and innocent finish which is perfect during the Spring Season!
Well Lovelies, that’s all for today! Stay amazing ♥
